Profile and Data Deletion – Parta Research

Important: Parta Research uses Parta Identity, a privacy-first cryptographic identification system. There is no traditional "account" with email and password. Your identity exists only on your device.
How Parta Identity Works
When you first open Parta Research, a unique cryptographic identity is generated and stored locally on your device. This identity is:
- Not linked to any email, phone number, or external account
- Stored exclusively in your device's app storage
- Used to authenticate your profile and messages
- Impossible to recover if deleted (by design)
Self-Service Data Deletion (Instant)
You can delete all your data instantly, without contacting us:
Option 1: Clear App Data (Android)
- Go to Settings → Apps → Parta Research
- Tap "Storage" or "Storage & cache"
- Tap "Clear data" (or "Clear storage")
- Confirm the action
Result: Your identity, profile, messages, and all local data are permanently deleted. When you reopen the app, you will start fresh with a new identity.
Option 2: Uninstall the App
Simply uninstall Parta Research from your device. All local data is automatically removed.
⚠️ Warning – Data Oblivion:
Once you clear app data or uninstall, your identity is permanently gone. We cannot recover it. This is intentional – it's a privacy feature, not a bug. Your cryptographic identity cannot be restored by us or anyone else.
What Happens to Server-Side Data?
When your identity is deleted:
- Your profile becomes inaccessible and is marked for deletion
- Your posts are orphaned and will be removed during routine cleanup
- Your messages remain visible to recipients but show as "deleted user"
- Connection requests you sent are cancelled
Server-side cleanup typically occurs within 30 days of identity deletion.
What About Subscriptions and Credits?
Credits
- Credits never expire as long as your Parta Identity exists
- Credits are tied to your Parta Identity, not your Google account
- If you delete your identity (clear app data or uninstall), credits are permanently lost
- We cannot restore credits after identity deletion – this is by design
- Spend your credits before clearing app data or uninstalling!
Subscriptions (Premium)
- Subscriptions are managed through Google Play Billing
- Subscriptions are tied to your Google Play account, not your Parta Identity
- If you delete your identity and create a new one, your active subscription will be automatically restored and linked to your new identity
- Subscription management (cancellation, renewal) is done through Google Play
Request Assisted Deletion
If you cannot perform self-service deletion (e.g., lost device), you may request assisted deletion by contacting us:

Please provide any information that can help identify your profile (username, approximate creation date, etc.). Note that without your cryptographic identity, verification options are limited.
Why This Design?
We believe you should have complete control over your data. Traditional platforms make deletion difficult – you need to contact support, wait days, and hope they actually delete everything. With Parta Research, deletion is instant, complete, and in your hands.
The trade-off is that recovery is impossible. We think that's the right trade-off for privacy.
