Terms of Service – Parta Research

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Parta Research mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").

Parta Research is part of the Parta Apps ecosystem, developed and operated by æ Aeonian Engineering Limited (Hong Kong) and WIDE di D. Papa (Italy).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Professional Use and Eligibility

Parta Research is intended for professional, academic, and research-oriented collaboration. You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. This is a professional platform, not a social network for minors.

3. Parta Identity – No Account Required

The App uses Parta Identity, a privacy-first cryptographic identification system.

How it works:

• When you first open the App, a unique cryptographic identity is generated and stored locally on your device
• No email, phone number, or password is required
• Your device IS your authentication
• Your identity cannot currently be exported or transferred to another device

4. Credits, Subscriptions, and Purchases

4.1 Credits

• Credits are used to send connection requests (free users)
• Credits can be purchased or earned by watching ads
• Credits never expire as long as your Parta Identity exists
• Credits are tied to your Parta Identity – if you delete your identity (by clearing app data or uninstalling), your credits are permanently lost
• We cannot restore credits after identity deletion – this is by design
• Spend your credits before clearing app data or uninstalling

4.2 Subscriptions (Premium)

• Subscriptions are managed through Google Play Billing
• Subscriptions are tied to your Google Play account, not your Parta Identity
• If you delete your identity and create a new one, your active subscription will be automatically restored and linked to your new identity
• Subscription management (cancellation, renewal) is done through Google Play

4.3 Refunds

Refund requests for subscriptions and credit purchases are handled according to Google Play's refund policies. We cannot process refunds directly.

5. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• The content you publish (posts, messages, profile information)
• Verifying professional contacts and opportunities before sharing sensitive information
• Maintaining the security of your device (and therefore your identity)
• Understanding that deleting app data means losing your identity and credits

Parta Research does not pre-screen all content and is not responsible for user-generated content or off-platform interactions.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

• Post illegal, harmful, or misleading content
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or affiliations
• Abuse, harass, or exploit other users
• Post or solicit any form of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or engage in child exploitation
• Use the App for spam, phishing, or commercial solicitation unrelated to research
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or exploit vulnerabilities
• Create multiple identities to abuse the free tier or evade bans

7. Child Safety

Parta Research enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE/CSAM). For details, see our Child Safety Standards.

8. Content Moderation and Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

• Remove content that violates these Terms
• Suspend or permanently ban users who violate these Terms
• Report illegal activity to appropriate authorities
• Cooperate with law enforcement when legally required

Due to the nature of Parta Identity, "banning" a user means blocking their cryptographic identity. A banned user could create a new identity, but this would mean losing all their data, connections, and credits.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, features, and branding are owned by Parta Apps / Aeonian Engineering Limited. You retain ownership of content you create, but grant us a license to display and distribute it within the App.

10. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to the data practices described therein.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• The accuracy or reliability of user-generated content
• That connections made through the App will lead to successful collaborations
• The professional credentials of other users

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parta Apps / Aeonian Engineering Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data due to identity deletion
• Loss of credits due to identity deletion
• Failed collaborations or professional relationships
• Content posted by other users

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Hong Kong, unless local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
